Sunken Sailboat Recovery in Deltona

Sinking in her slip well before the call came in, the 27 ft Cal 27 had a boom missing and the mast corroded at the step. By then the deck was awash, bow slightly up, and the marina office wanted her out before the next storm.
The complication was the slip. A tight fit, an adjacent hull close enough to rub, and a mast that might drop if disturbed. We took the mast down first with a hand winch, then put lift bags under the hull and brought her up slowly. A line to each piling kept her centered in the slip.
Most of a morning. A tow brought her out to the ramp, and the hull was too soft at the step to repair. Our yard handled dismantling and recycling. Salvage was the winches and the cleats. Sunken boat recovery in a marina is mostly about not touching the neighbors.

Crews cover Volusia County: Daytona Beach, Debary, Deland, and Edgewater. Deltona calls fall inside our Volusia County same-week schedule. The ramp access roads are wide, and the trailer exits through the inland routes toward Debary, which sidesteps beachside traffic. We contact the slip owner or dockmaster the day before and sort out access.
