Raising a 23 ft Rinker 232 in Ormond Beach, FL

This 23 ft Rinker 232 cuddy cabin had gelcoat crazed like a road map, and the marina office had been after the owner about it for months. A failed bilge pump and a stuck float switch did the rest, and she sank in her slip with the deck awash and the bow slightly up.
The obstacle was the neighbors. Intact boats sat on both sides, so we had maybe a foot of clearance and no room for a work skiff beside her. The crew hung fenders along both neighbors, passed bags under her by hand, and ran the discharge hose down the dock to open water.
She came up in about three hours, the cuddy still dry enough to walk into. The engine was worth saving and the hull was sound under the crazing, so she was a repair candidate. We handled the tow out of the slip and hauled her to a repair yard south of Daytona Beach. As sunken boat recovery goes, it was a clean salvage.

Crews cover Volusia County: Daytona Beach, Debary, Deland and Deltona. When a boat goes under in Ormond Beach or any of those towns, we plan the recovery the same week, sort out the depth and access by photo, and get a crew on site as soon as the water and the schedule allow.
