Silver Springs Shores, FL: 26 ft Sea Ray 268 Sundancer Off the Bottom in One Morning

The 26 ft Sea Ray 268 Sundancer cabin cruiser had a soft transom and peeling bottom paint. That was enough to explain how she sank, without any other drama.
Water crept in at the stern over a few weeks, and by the time we arrived only the cabin roof showed above the surface at the public ramp. The obstacle was other boaters. People were still launching next to the wreck, so we set cones and ran the job around their schedule, working the lift bags in short stages while the line was quiet.
It took about six hours on site, longer than the lift itself because of the pauses. The tow went to the trailer a short way off, then toward Ocala. The transom was gone, and a rebuild would have cost more than the boat was worth, so she went to our yard. Engines and the helm went to salvage, the hull to recycling. Sunken boat recovery sometimes means waiting.

Crews cover Marion County: Liberty Triangle, Marion Oaks, Ocala, and On Top Of The World. A call about a cabin cruiser on the bottom in Silver Springs Shores gets a crew and a work skiff on the schedule that same week. A boat blocking a ramp goes to the front of the line so the launch lane reopens. Tight access shapes the plan, but it does not push the date.
