Irvine, CA: 24 ft Harris FloteBote Gone in One Morning

This 24 ft Harris FloteBote 24 had been parked on a rusted tandem trailer long enough for the vinyl floor to bubble up in three spots and the bimini frame to snap clean at the joint. Somebody bought it for weekend runs, used it a season or two, then let the tabs lapse while it sat on flat pavement collecting leaves. By the time we got the call, one trailer tire had gone soft and the frame had settled into the driveway grooves it made over the years. The tandem axle was the problem. Rust had frozen one hub, so towing it straight out risked snapping the trailer before we cleared the block. We jacked the low corner, freed the hub with a breaker bar, and walked it out slow toward the Santa Ana route to get clear of the tight turn-in. There was no title in the drawer, handled per the California page rules. Took most of a morning between the freeing and the load-out. Pontoon deck came off the trailer clean once we had it rolling, and both boat and frame rode flat-bedded back to our yard for scrap sort. Crews cover all of Orange County: Anaheim, Santa Ana, Huntington Beach, Garden Grove, Fullerton, Orange. Most Irvine calls on a 24 ft Harris get scheduled the same week, since we're already running routes through Irvine. A lot of these pontoons come out of seasonal storage yards near the 5 and 405 corridor, sitting on a trailer nobody's hooked up in years, and that makes for an easy load once we're on site.
