El Dorado Hills, CA: 23 ft Hunter Gone in One Morning

The Hunter 23.5 had been sitting in a driveway in El Dorado Hills for two winters. The water ballast tank cracked during the cold months, and the original trailer underneath it had rusted to the point where moving it safely meant building a new frame underneath. The owner had tried to sell it a couple of times, but a cracked hull and a trailer that couldn't be trusted to roll made that impossible. We showed up on a Tuesday morning with a flatbed and a crane. The mast was already down, but getting the keel out required a trip to our yard afterward. The real puzzle was the driveway itself, narrow, sloped, and hemmed in by a fence on one side. We set up a secondary lift point and rolled the boat off the rusted frame piece by piece, then loaded the hull onto our flatbed. Getting out of the neighborhood and toward Cameron Park took some careful routing, but under an hour of setup and hauling had the sailboat secured and on its way. At the yard we pulled the keel, cut the hull down to recyclable fiberglass and resin, and routed the metal hardware to the appropriate processors. The trailer frame went to scrap. The owner got a single document showing the boat was gone. We cover all of El Dorado County: South Lake Tahoe, Cameron Park, Diamond Springs, Placerville, Pollock Pines, Auburn Lake Trails. Most pickups happen same week. A lot of boats come through here seasonally, people moving them in and out of storage before winter or after spring thaw, and we've got the route dialed. Call with your address and we'll tell you what day works.
