Hauling a center console out of a Palo Alto driveway

A 20 ft Grady-White 204 center console had been sitting in a Palo Alto driveway for three years. The console was cracked, the fuel tank was suspect, and the fiberglass hull was starting to show serious UV damage. The trailer's axle had rusted through enough that moving it safely became the first real problem. The boat was wedged between the garage and a fence, which meant we couldn't back a standard trailer in and out. We brought a smaller recovery rig, disconnected what we could from the trailer in place, and winched the hull itself onto our hauler. The rusted axle stayed behind for the homeowner to deal with separately. The whole operation took most of a morning, mostly because we had to work around the tight space and make sure we didn't tear up the driveway or take out the fence. Once we had the Grady-White on the truck, we routed it to a Santa Clara County processor where the fiberglass hull gets cut down and the materials get separated.
