Raising a 26 ft Sea Ray 268 Sundancer in Lake Mary, FL

The owner of the 26 ft Sea Ray 268 Sundancer knew she was due for a haul-out, with a soft transom and peeling bottom paint to show for it. He kept putting it off. One stormy week, water got in around the transom and the boat settled by the stern at a lake dock with the bow up.
The obstacle was the dock. It was fixed and low, and the cabin top sat under its edge, so we could not simply roll bags beneath her. Divers walked the hull out sideways on short lines first. Then three lift bags went under, the crew inflated them in turn, and a drain line emptied the cabin until she sat on her lines again.
The transom core turned out to be repairable and the cabin was dry underneath, so the salvage was worth doing. We made a tow to a ramp and trucked her toward Longwood to a repair yard for the transom work. About five hours made it a tidy sunken boat recovery.

Crews cover Seminole County: Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Longwood, Oviedo. A single photo and a rough depth are enough for us to begin planning when a boat goes down in these towns, and a crew usually reaches the water that week. Bags, lines, and haul-out gear all come with us, leaving the owner nothing to set up beforehand.
