Hauling a sailboat out of a New Orleans driveway

This one came off a driveway in Orleans Parish, a 27 ft Ericson 27 with crazed portlights and an interior some previous owner had gutted years back, nothing left inside but the bones. It had been sitting on stands long enough that the pads had settled into the ground on one side, so the hull was leaning off level when we got there. That lean was the obstacle. We couldn't just roll it out flat, so the crew re-blocked the low side before we could get straps under it safely. Once it was squared up, the pull itself went fast, most of a morning start to finish counting the re-blocking. No title in the drawer, handled per the Louisiana page rules, so that didn't slow us down either. We routed it out toward Metairie on the trailer, mast already down and lashed alongside for the ride. Back at the yard the keel came out first, then we cut the hull down for the processor. Fiberglass this far gone with no interior worth saving isn't a restoration candidate, it's a straight recycle job, and that's exactly how this one ended.
