Raising a 24 ft Formula 242 in New Port Richey, FL

The stringers under the cockpit floor of this 24 ft Formula 242 cuddy cabin were rotted through, and a boat ramp is where it let go. It was found with the gunwales level with the water in the shallows next to the concrete. A rotted boat in a ramp lane is a problem everyone sees.
The obstacle was working in public. Trailers kept arriving, and we could not block the lane for long. We put lift bags at the gunwales, kept the crew small, and floated the hull while a pump emptied the cockpit. The rotted floor made us go gently, because a pull on the wrong spot would have broken it.
Sunken boat removal at a ramp takes about three hours when nothing fights back. We towed the boat to the trailer at the head of the ramp, then hauled it on toward Hudson. The structure was finished, so it went to our yard for recycling, and the engine was kept as salvage.

Crews cover Pasco County: Holiday, Hudson, Jasmine Estates, and Land O Lakes. When a boat goes under in New Port Richey or anywhere nearby, we schedule the recovery the same week once we have photos and a rough depth. A sunken boat rarely improves with time, because fuel, oil, and rough weather only add to it, so call us and send a few pictures to get on the schedule soonest.
