Port St John, FL: 26 ft Sea Ray 268 Sundancer Off the Bottom in One Morning

Transom gone soft, bottom paint peeling. That is the short version of the 26 ft Sea Ray 268 Sundancer a Brevard owner called about.
She had sat on a ramp-side mooring through a few too many afternoon storms, and the soft transom let the stern take on water until only the cabin roof showed above the surface. The obstacle was the transom itself. You cannot lift on wood that gives, so we braced it from inside with a plank and strapping before anything went near the hull. Then two lift bags went under the sides and we brought her up in steps.
We were done in about five hours. The tow went by water a short way and then by trailer toward Titusville. The core was too far gone for a rebuild, so she went to our yard for dismantling and recycling. Fittings and the engine went to salvage. It was a plain sunken boat removal with no surprises.

Crews cover Brevard County: Palm Bay, Titusville, Merritt Island, Rockledge, Melbourne, and Viera West. A cabin cruiser that sank in Port St John does not need to sit, and a crew can be on site the same week. A hull sitting in a launch lane moves to the top of the schedule, so the lane clears. A narrow approach changes how we work, but the schedule holds.
