Hauling a sailboat out of a Rancho Cordova driveway

A 27 ft Catalina 27 had been sitting on wooden stands in a Rancho Cordova driveway for three years. The standing rigging was seized solid, and the sails were still bagged but rotted through. The owner had kept meaning to restore it, then kept meaning to sell it, then just kept walking past it every morning. The real problem wasn't the boat itself,it was the trailer. The stands had settled unevenly into the soil, and the frame had started to rust where it met the ground. We couldn't just winch it straight onto our flatbed without risking the hull. We brought a second crew with a crane to lift the hull clear of the stands, set it on blocks, and then break the trailer down piece by piece before loading. Most of a morning, start to finish. Once on the truck, we routed it back to our Sacramento County yard. The mast came down first, and we pulled the keel before the hull went to the processor.
