Raising a 28 ft Carver 28 in Milton, FL

When a 28 ft Carver 28 aft cabin cruiser has windows that leak until the interior gives up, the cabin fills before anyone sees a thing. This one was on a mooring and settled by the stern with the bow pointing up, and the aft cabin was full to the ceiling. Wet upholstery had added hundreds of pounds the owner never counted.
The obstacle was that weight. Lifting a flooded aft cabin cruiser with only bags tends to pull the bow before the stern moves. We stripped the soaked interior out through the stern door first, then ran lift bags under the stern and brought it up level. Pumps handled the last of it once the transom cleared.
The sunken boat recovery took about five hours, and we towed the Carver to the ramp near Navarre. Nothing was left to repair but the hull shell, which was sound, so it went to a repair yard. The engines had real salvage value on their own.

Crews cover Santa Rosa County: East Milton, Navarre, Gulf Breeze, and Jay. When a boat goes under in Milton or anywhere nearby, we schedule the recovery the same week once we have photos and a rough depth. A sunken boat rarely improves with time, and the fuel, the oil, and the weather all make it harder, so ringing us with a handful of pictures gets a crew scheduled fastest.
