Raising a 24 ft Bayliner 2455 Ciera in North Miami Beach, FL

Neglect on a mooring for a long time left the 24 ft Bayliner 2455 Ciera cabin cruiser with a green algae line and a chalky hull. When a squall hit, it went down by the stern with the bow pointing up, held in place only by the mooring pennant. The owner had not visited in months.
The obstacle was the pennant. It was chafed through and half the load was on a frayed line that could have parted under tension. We replaced it with our own line before lifting, set lift bags at the stern, and brought it up level. Pumps cleared the cabin after.
Sunken boat removal on a mooring took about four hours. A tow brought the Ciera into the ramp, away from Coral Terrace. The chalky hull cleaned up fine, so it went to a repair yard, with the engine sold on as salvage.

Crews cover Miami-Dade County: Brownsville, Coral Terrace, Country Club, and Country Walk. When a boat goes under in North Miami Beach or anywhere nearby, we schedule the recovery the same week once we have photos and a rough depth. Time is not on the side of a boat that has gone under, since fuel and oil spread and weather piles on, which is why one call and a few photos is the best way onto our calendar.
