Hauling a bowrider out of a Smithtown storage lot

A 19 ft Reinell 190 bowrider had been sitting in a Smithtown yard for three winters. The engine block cracked when someone forgot to winterize it, and by the time the owner decided to call us, the boat was just taking up space and reminding him of a decision he'd made and then abandoned. The trailer was still serviceable, but the real problem was access. The property sat tight between two driveways, and the only way out meant backing through a narrow gate that'd been designed for a sedan, not a 35-foot loaded rig. We came in with a lighter wrecker and unhitched the trailer right there in the yard. Two of us worked it through by hand while the truck stayed on the street, then we loaded the hull itself onto our hauler. The whole thing ran under two hours. From there, the Reinell went to the processor in Suffolk County, where the fiberglass got sorted for recycling and the scrap metals got separated. One less boat collecting rust.
