Southchase, FL: 23 ft Chris-Craft Cavalier Off the Bottom in One Morning

Dust from decades in a barn, plus a cracked keel strip. The 23 ft Chris-Craft Cavalier cabin cruiser looked like she had been rolled out of storage that morning.
In a way she had. The new owner launched her at the public ramp, and the cracked keel strip did the rest, so she was sitting with the gunwales level with the water within a day. The obstacle was weight. An old cruiser full of water is far heavier than the owner expected. We staged the lift bags, used a winch from the trailer, and kept the hull straight with the skiff.
About four hours. The tow was short, the ramp was clear again by noon, and we drove her toward Apopka on a trailer. The keel strip was a repair a yard could do, so she went there. Old fittings went to salvage. A sunken boat recovery like this usually leaves an owner wiser, and this one was.

Crews cover Orange County: Apopka, Bithlo, Conway, and Doctor Phillips. A cabin cruiser that sank in Southchase does not need to sit, and a crew can be on site the same week. Any boat sunk in a launch lane is put first on the calendar, and the lane is cleared. Our order is simple: bring it up, and the owner and crew settle its destination after.
