Hauling a runabout out of a St. Paul pickup

A 17 ft Glasspar Seafair had been sitting behind a garage in Ramsey County long enough that nobody in the house remembered the last time it got water under it. Sixties classic, the kind of hull people love in photos, but this one had gone soft in the transom and cracked through the stringers. Too far gone to restore, and the vintage trailer under it had finally given out too, one axle sunk into the dirt with a wheel that would not turn. Getting it out meant winching the hull off a dead frame instead of just backing a truck up and rolling away, which is the part that eats your morning. We routed the flatbed in off a side street near Shoreview to get a straight pull, chained the hull, and walked it up onto planks by hand since the trailer wasn't going anywhere useful. No title in the drawer, handled per the Minnesota page rules. Took most of a morning start to finish. That Glasspar went straight to the processor for cutting down, nothing left in that yard by early afternoon. Crews cover all of Ramsey County: Shoreview, New Brighton, Mounds View, Vadnais Heights, North St. Paul, White Bear. Most St. Paul pickups get scheduled the same week you call, no long wait strung out over a month. A lot of what we haul this time of year is coming out of seasonal storage, an old Glasspar someone parked at a self-storage lot years back and never got around to moving again.
