Raising a 23 ft Chris-Craft Cavalier in St Petersburg, FL

Barn dust from decades in storage still coated the 23 ft Chris-Craft Cavalier, and a cracked keel strip ran along the bottom. It came out of storage in the spring, went into a rented slip, and the first hard rain finished the job. By the time the owner called, the deck was awash with the bow just clear of the water.
The slip was the obstacle. Boats sat tight on both sides, so no crane or lift was getting near her. Two of us worked from a skiff, rigged lift bags under the gunwales, and brought her up an inch at a time. Slow beats scraping a neighbor's paint.
Once she floated, a short tow got her to the ramp. The keel damage was only the start, and the stringers had gone soft too, so salvage was off the table. Sunken boat removal ended at our yard for dismantling and recycling, with the truck routed through Largo. Four hours on site start to finish.

Crews cover Pinellas County: Clearwater, Dunedin, East Lake, and Largo. When a boat goes under in St Petersburg, photos and a rough depth are usually enough to plan the job, and most recoveries here are scheduled within the same week. We haul in the bags, a work skiff, and a trailer, so there is no need to hire anyone else for the job. Shoot us a few photos, and we will say what it will take to bring her up.
