Storm Damaged Boat Removal in Freeport, NY

Salt water had already worked through the console wiring before we got the call. A fall storm pushed a surge up the canal behind the house, and the 24 ft Wellcraft that had been fine at its lift the night before was half sunk against the seawall by morning. The letter from the insurance adjuster came a week later, and it covered the cleanup but not the boat sitting there rotting. The hard part wasn't the weight, it was the angle: the hull had settled against a bulkhead in a spot our trailer couldn't back close to, so we rigged a line to a winch truck up on the street and dragged it clear before pulling it the rest of the way by hand. Two hours of mud and salt water later it was strapped down and gone. The seawall was clear by that afternoon.
