Storm surge had pushed the motoryacht sideways into a canal bank, and it never came back out under its own power. The engines had flooded during the same storm that put it there, and once saltwater got into the block, there wasn't a repair that made financial sense. The owner had it insured, but the settlement took months to work through, and by the time the check cleared, the hull had been sitting canted on the bank through another full season of weather. The bank itself was the hard part, soft mud on one side and exposed pilings on the other, so we brought in a wide sling and worked the pull at a shallow angle instead of straight off the bank to keep from catching a piling on the way out. Most of a full day on that one. With both engines gone and the hull cracked along one seam, it's headed straight to the scrapper.
