The last named storm of the season put three feet of water into that cabin cruiser before anyone thought to move it. It had been sitting low in its slip for a while already, an old motor problem nobody had gotten around to fixing meant the bilge pump wasn't keeping up even before the storm hit. Once the surge came through, the cockpit filled and the boat settled hard against the dock, listing enough that the marina flagged it as a hazard. Pulling it required floating a crane barge alongside since the hull was too heavy and too waterlogged to winch straight up a ramp. Once it was out of the water and drained, we could see the transom had taken damage in the surge that made any repair not worth pursuing. It went to a fiberglass recycler as a total loss.
