Panama City, FL: 23 ft Chris-Craft Cavalier Off the Bottom in One Morning

Barn dust and a cracked keel strip came along with the 23 ft Chris-Craft Cavalier, a boat that had been in storage for decades. She was moved to a slip to be made ready for sale and sank there inside a week, deck awash with the bow slightly up.
The obstacle was the marina office. They wanted the slip clear by noon because a charter boat was due in, and there was a boat on each side with no room for a second skiff. So we worked in a tight order: bags under her by hand, a pump on the dock, and the discharge hose run to open water so we would not slick the other boats.
She floated in about three hours, in time for the deadline. We towed her out and onto a trailer for a ride toward Lynn Haven to a repair yard. The wood was sound and the keel strip is a straight repair, so she was salvaged instead of scrapped. Good outcome for a sunken boat recovery.

Crews cover Bay County: Lynn Haven, Panama City Beach, Upper Grand Lagoon, and Fountain. When a boat goes under in Panama City or any of those towns, we plan the recovery the same week, sort out the depth and access by photo, and get a crew on site as soon as the water and the schedule allow.
