Sunken Sailboat Recovery in Bonita Springs

The 26 ft Pearson 26 had deck core soft around every stanchion, and the owner knew it. What he did not know was that rain collected in the cockpit and found its way through the stanchion bases into the hull. After a long weekend away he came back to a cabin roof barely above the water at his canal seawall.
Soft core made the rigging tricky. Lifting from the deck would have pulled the fittings straight out, so we skipped the stanchions and passed straps under the hull, then set lift bags against the straps. The keel scraped the bottom twice before she floated free, and we waited on the tide to give us the extra inches.
About four hours. The tow ran down the canal to a ramp in Estero. The deck was rotten through, so the Pearson went to our yard for dismantling and recycling, and the keel was kept for scrap as the only salvage. This sunken boat removal ended with the seawall clear and nothing left in the water.

Crews cover Lee County: Cape Coral, Cypress Lake, Estero, Fort Myers. Canal boats are on the tide, so we plan the lift around it and aim to be on the seawall in the same week the call comes in. Narrow residential streets set the truck route, and we scout the turns before the trailer rolls.
