Raising a 21 ft Thompson 21 in Gateway, FL

Someone pulled the outdrive off the 21 ft Thompson 21 and never put it back. The open hole in the transom let the slip fill her up, and she sat with her deck awash and the bow slightly up.
The hole was the whole problem. Water poured in as fast as we could move it out. So a diver plugged the opening with a rubber bung and foam, and then we ran two pumps until she floated. The slip was shallow, and we moved her out by hand on lines.
The job took about two hours. This sunken boat removal was easy once the hole was closed. The hull was rotted and the engine was missing, so the Thompson went through Estero to our yard for dismantling and recycling. We kept the cleats for salvage, and the tow to the ramp was short.

Crews cover Lee County: Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, Cypress Lake, Estero. Lee County crews work the slips and the canals. A missing outdrive is a plug job, and most raises here happen within the week we are called. Tell us what is missing off the transom, and we bring the right plug. The haul to our yard runs on the main highway, so a morning raise is on the trailer before lunch.
