Sunken Cabin Cruiser Recovery in West Palm Beach

Peeling bottom paint and a soft transom told the story of the 26 ft Sea Ray 268 Sundancer before we got near the water. It had been tied against a concrete seawall in a residential canal, and the stern finally gave way. Only the cabin roof showed above the surface when we arrived.
Fuel aboard was the obstacle. The tanks were about a third full, and the vents were underwater, so we could not simply lift the boat and walk away. Before any lift, we drew the fuel off through a sealed line and ringed the hull with sorbent boom. Then we set lift bags forward and aft and let the Sundancer rise level, which kept the sheen contained. Sunken boat removal beside a seawall depends on that.
The job took roughly six hours. A look at the transom showed it was past fixing, so we made a short tow around the block to the nearest ramp, loaded it, and drove it to our yard near Delray Beach. The Sundancer was dismantled and recycled, and the fittings went to salvage.

Crews cover Palm Beach County: Belle Glade, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, and Delray Beach. When a vessel goes down in one of these places, we line up the work inside the week: photos and the depth first, then a plan, then lift bags and a tow booked once the ramp or dock is clear. A typical job here runs a single working day.
