Raising a 24 ft Harris FloteBote 24 in Clermont, FL

A vinyl floor bubbled like a blister and a bimini frame snapped in two were what the owner described when he phoned me about the 24 ft Harris FloteBote 24. The owner called it cosmetic. Then a wet August filled the tubes through a cracked seam, and she settled at a lake dock with the gunwales level with the water.
Getting her out meant working around the dock. Low walkway, shallow approach, and a gas can still sitting under the console. We pulled the can first and bagged the fuel, then slid lift bags under the deck beams and walked her sideways off the dock edge before floating her to the ramp.
Most of a morning, with a short tow after to our yard. Water had taken the tubes and the frame had cracked, so repair would cost more than the boat. Dismantling and recycling it was, with the aluminum going out as salvage. Tidy sunken boat removal, no spill.

Crews cover Lake County: Eustis, Four Corners, Groveland, and Lady Lake. Lake County calls normally get a crew within the week. Hills around Clermont mean we check the grade on any dock access road before sending a loaded trailer down it, and we plan the exit to the highway side.
