Sunken Cuddy Cabin Recovery in Davie

Nobody had looked under the cockpit floor of the 24 ft Formula 242 in years, and the stringers there had rotted. Moored with a loose bilge hose, she slowly took on water until the gunwales sat level with the surface.
The rotted stringers were the obstacle. A hull without a strong spine can bend or crack when lifted from one end. We used four bags spread along the gunwales, so the load was shared, and kept the pumps off until the hull floated. Even then she flexed as she rose, and we kept the lift slow.
The job took about four hours. Once up, it was clear the hull had no structure left, so the tow went toward Plantation to our yard for dismantling and recycling. The sunken boat removal ended with the engines pulled for salvage, and the mooring was free by evening.

Crews cover Broward County: Pembroke Pines, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Deerfield Beach, Coral Springs, and Plantation. Whenever a vessel is lost to the water anywhere across the county, our goal is a diver and a workboat at the scene within the week. A few photos and a rough depth are all we need, and we will outline what the job takes and where the boat ends up.
