Jupiter, FL: 24 ft Harris FloteBote 24 Off the Bottom in One Morning

That morning the owner of the 24 ft Harris FloteBote 24 pontoon rang me about a bubbled vinyl floor and a snapped bimini frame. It filled at the public ramp until its gunwales were level with the water, and ramp users started calling the owner.
We had a window. The ramp was quiet before nine, so the crew arrived at first light with a trailer, a skiff, and four lift bags. The drain plugs were seized, so we cut the bimini frame loose and placed the bags under the cross members. The tubes came up full.
Draining took longer than lifting. The sunken boat recovery took about two hours on site, and the barge was off the ramp before the first trailer arrived. The tow was short. We loaded the Harris and headed toward Delray Beach for the yard. The floor was rotten and the tubes were dented, so there was no salvage, and it was dismantled and recycled.

Crews cover Palm Beach County: Belle Glade, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, and Delray Beach. Ramp recoveries are best done early, and we schedule them for the same week when the owner sends a photo. Coastal roads are busy, so we plan the arrival to avoid commuter traffic. Photos of the ramp help.
