Raising a 24 ft Formula 242 in Lakeland Highlands, FL

This 24 ft Formula 242 cuddy cabin had stringers rotted under the cockpit floor, and the owner found out the hard way. He stepped aboard one morning, felt the floor flex, and walked off the dock. Within two weeks, the stern had settled and the bow was pointing up at an angle that looked wrong from across the lake.
Stringers were the obstacle. With no real backbone left in the hull, a lift can crack her in half if the bags pull on the wrong points. The crew spread the load across four straps and used several small lift bags instead of two big ones at the ends. We went up in small steps, checking the hull each time.
She came up in one piece, which was a relief. Because the stringer grid was gone, there was no salvage in her. We arranged a tow to the ramp and sent her to our yard near Bartow for dismantling and recycling. Four hours on site for the sunken boat removal.

Crews cover Polk County: Auburndale, Bartow, Davenport, Fuller Heights. We usually book jobs around here inside seven days, since a hull resting on the bottom lifts more cleanly ahead of the next front. Let us know how long the boat is, the depth it lies at, and the way in to the water, and the lift plan and the haul-out route follow from that.
