Sunken Pontoon Recovery in Sanford

Before it ever went down, this 22 ft Sun Tracker Party Barge 22 already had spongy deck boards and a bent rail. A pontoon in that shape has usually been left for a while.
She sank on her mooring and sat with the gunwales level with the water, which on a pontoon means the whole deck was wet. The obstacle was the lake bottom, soft muck that grabs a hull like glue. We ran a line around the tubes, broke the suction with a low flow of water under them, and then used lift bags to float her free instead of dragging.
It took about four hours. Our tow went to a ramp toward Lake Mary, and the pontoon rode up on a trailer without complaint. The tubes were fine, but the deck was done, and the owner chose recycling. We took her to our yard. Rails and tubes go to salvage, the plywood to the dumpster. Sunken boat removal ended before dinner.

Crews cover Seminole County: Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Lake Mary, and Longwood. Sanford calls are handled the same way: photos in, a plan out, and the boat raised inside the week. For a hull on the bottom at a mooring, the skiff does the reaching and the shore matters little. Method is decided after the crew sees the hull and learns how deep it sits.
