22 ft Catalina Removal in The Woodlands, TX

A 22 ft Catalina 22 had been sitting in a driveway in The Woodlands for years with its mast down and lashed to the deck. The swing-keel trailer underneath had flat tires and hadn't moved in so long the owner wasn't sure the hitch still worked. It was a fiberglass hull that had weathered every season, and the longer it sat, the less likely anyone was going to buy it or fix it. The real problem wasn't the boat itself,it was access. The driveway was tight, neighbors were close, and we needed to get a loaded trailer out without tearing up the asphalt or taking out a fence. We brought a rotator and a spotter, pulled the boat straight out instead of trying to turn it, and had the whole rig on the truck under an hour. At the yard we pulled the swing keel, removed what was left of the mast hardware, and sent the hull to the processor. The trailer went to salvage.
