Sunken Cabin Cruiser Recovery in Titusville

A layer of dust from decades in a barn clung to the 23 ft Chris-Craft Cavalier, and the keel strip had a crack running its length. The owner had finally moved her to a slip to sell her. She did not last the month. The deck went awash, and the bow lifted just clear.
The obstacle was the age of the hull. An old wood-and-glass boat can come apart when it is lifted wrong. We spread six lift bags the length of the hull, and brought her up in slow stages, watching the keel strip. Nothing flexed more than it should.
She floated, and she came to the ramp on a short tow. Lifting worked, but the repairs would have cost more than the boat, so salvage was off the table. She rode north toward Merritt Island to our yard for dismantling and recycling. About four hours on site. This sunken boat recovery was gentle work on an old girl.

Crews cover Brevard County: Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Melbourne, and Merritt Island. When a boat goes under in Titusville, photos and a rough depth are usually enough to plan the job, and most recoveries here are scheduled within the same week. Everything for the raise comes with us: bags, skiff, and trailer, so one crew handles all of it. Get the pictures to us, and we will say what it will take to bring her up.
