Hauling a fishing boat out of a Antioch driveway

A 16 ft Crestliner 1650 had been sitting in someone's driveway in Antioch for three years. The aluminum hull was full of leaves, the bench seats were stripped down to the frames, and the trailer tongue was bent so far it wouldn't tow straight. The boat wasn't going anywhere, and neither was the owner's plan to fix it. We showed up on a Tuesday morning. The trailer couldn't move under its own weight, so we brought a heavy-duty winch rig instead of our standard tow truck. The bent tongue meant we had to load the boat onto a flatbed first, then break down the trailer separately and haul both pieces. The whole job ran under two hours. We took the aluminum hull and frame to the metal recycler in Contra Costa County, where it got sorted and processed. The trailer went to the scrap yard. What had been a three-year fixture was gone by lunch. We cover all of Contra Costa County: Concord, Richmond, San Ramon, Pittsburg, Walnut Creek, Brentwood. Most pickups happen same week. We see a lot of seasonal traffic here,boats coming out of storage in spring, going back in late fall,so we keep the schedule flexible. Antioch sits right on the route between the Delta marinas and the recyclers inland, which means we move fast and keep costs down.
