13 ft Boston Whaler Removal in Atlanta, GA

This one was a 13 ft Boston Whaler 13 that had been sitting in a DeKalb County driveway long enough for the foam core to soak through and go heavy. That's a common end for these little skiffs. Once water gets into the core, the hull stops being a boat you can lift by hand and starts being a couple hundred pounds of wet foam and fiberglass that fights you the whole way onto a trailer. The trailer wasn't helping either. Galvanized frame, bent at the crossmember, one bunk sitting lower than the other, so the hull sat crooked and wouldn't roll straight. We snugged straps low and even, walked it out in stages instead of one long pull, and kept the tow route toward Tucker to avoid the tighter turns closer in. No title in the drawer, handled per the Georgia page rules. Most of a morning start to finish, then the hull went straight to the processor for cutdown, waterlogged core and all. Crews cover all of DeKalb County: Stonecrest, Brookhaven, Dunwoody, Tucker, Redan, Chamblee. Most calls in this stretch get a same-week pickup once we've got the address and a look at the trailer. A good chunk of our Atlanta runs are folks pulling a 13 ft Boston out of a storage yard after the season ends, and those lots usually clear out fast once we're on the schedule.
