Storm Damaged Boat Removal in Midway, GA

Storm season leaves more than downed trees along the Georgia coast. This Mako had been tied off at a private dock for years, the outboard giving intermittent trouble that the owner kept patching rather than properly fixing. When a tropical system pushed through with heavy surge, the boat took on water faster than its bilge pump could keep up with and settled hard against the dock pilings by morning. The owner had actually been trying to sell it before the storm hit, listed for a few months without any real interest. Afterward, there wasn't much left to sell. Getting it out meant working the falling tide, we waited for the water to drop enough to walk equipment out to the dock without a boat, then winched the hull up onto a low trailer staged at the water's edge. The console had cracked clean through in the surge. It went to the recycler as scrap, and the dock's clear again.
