Georgia Boat Removal and Disposal — flatbed truck hauling a junk boat away

Georgia

Georgia Boat Removal and Disposal

Twenty years of hauling junk boats out of driveways, marinas, and backyards. Firm quote before the truck rolls.

Licensed & Insured Georgia Statewide Fast Response

Georgia calls spike right after a storm, not before one. Hurricane season leaves a hull the insurance check will not fully cover, and fixing it stops making sense. Other boats came with an estate, and nobody in the family wants to be the one who handles the old boat removal that follows. A code enforcement letter shows up sometimes too, and that is usually the final push. I have seen enough of these to know which one is coming before the owner says it.

My crew treats it as one job: pickup, transport, and boat disposal in a single visit. We work off a trailer, a storage lot, or a marina, whichever applies. No title on the boat rarely slows things down. Details further down.

How much does boat removal cost?

Starting from
$250

Junk boat on a trailer that rolls, with room for the truck to reach it. From there, four things move the number.

I will tell you which ones apply to yours before we schedule anything.

Size and type

A 14-foot aluminum fishing boat is one job. A 30-foot cabin cruiser is a different one. Length, beam, and weight decide the crew and the equipment.

Where it sits

Driveway on a trailer is the cheapest boat removal there is. On blocks in the backyard takes more work. In a slip, it needs a haul-out. Sunken, it needs recovery.

Condition

Engine already out is cheaper. Fuel still aboard, a hull full of rainwater, a trailer that will not roll: each adds handling.

Distance

Miles to the processing yard are part of the quote. Boat hauling cost scales with them.

Not sure which factors apply to your boat?

Can it be free?

People ask about free junk boat removal. Sometimes the boat has enough going for it, a running outboard, decent aluminum, and we take it for nothing. Sometimes it does not, and there is a fee. We will tell you which one you have.

Our guarantee

The number is firm before the truck rolls.

Twenty years in, nobody has heard a different price at the curb.

What pricing looks like in Georgia

Marina slips and storm-damage pulls make up a good share of my jobs in Georgia, right alongside the usual driveway calls. The coast keeps this a short-haul state, so the trip to the yard rarely adds much to the job. Spring cleanout is the busiest stretch, and the calls stay steady the rest of the year. Boat hauling here comes down to what the storm left behind and where the boat is sitting when I arrive. I give one number after I look the job over, and that number does not change once the trailer is hooked up.

Junk boat pickup, salvage, and old boat removal

One boat, a whole yard, or an emergency. Old boat removal from a driveway or an estate. Junk boat pickup for the one that never sold. Marinas and boat yards call us to clear a season of abandoned slips in one visit. Insurance adjusters call after storms. My crew has floated sunken boats, hauled sailboats out of backyards, and moved a 40-footer through a neighborhood that was not built for it. One call covers removal, transport, and disposal. If it floats, floated, or was supposed to float, we haul it.

Getting rid of a boat legally in Georgia

State legal briefGeorgia
Reviewed August 25, 2026

Georgia titles boats. Titling went electronic on July 1, 2020, so the eTitle registry entry is the title itself; a paper copy costs $10 on request. Under O.C.G.A. Section 52-7-4(b), every boat on Georgia waters must be titled except those exempt from numbering, and outboards over 25 horsepower are included.

To hand a boat to us we need a detailed bill of sale (HIN, year, make, model, length, registration number) and the paper title signed over, if one exists. With no title, Georgia's path is an Affidavit of Vessel Ownership, requiring documented attempts to reach the owner by certified mail; for a boat worth more than $5,000, a surety bond for the value plus 20% is also required.

Georgia has no removal fund. A legal procedure under O.C.G.A. Sections 52-7-70 through 52-7-77 lets someone recover costs or sell a boat under lien rights, but it does not pay for anything itself.

If the boat is not yours. Georgia has a legal path: notify police in writing within 72 hours, send the owner a certified letter, wait 30 days for them to reclaim the boat, then foreclose through Magistrate Court for a $5 filing fee. DNR notes that if the owner will sign a bill of sale, none of it is necessary. If they are not reachable, the wait and the filing are on you, and removal is the shorter road.

Skip the paperwork. We take Georgia boats with or without titles. One call, one price.

Boat removal in Georgia: what owners ask

How do I get rid of an old boat in Georgia?

In Georgia you can sell it, donate it, drop it at a salvage yard, or call a removal service to haul it away. Selling a marina-slip or driveway boat takes longer than most owners want. We load the unwanted boat and handle the rest.

How much does boat disposal cost in Georgia?

Boat disposal cost in Georgia depends on size, condition, where the boat sits, and distance to the yard, which is usually short here. The pricing section above breaks down how those factors add up.

Where can I dispose of a boat in Georgia?

You have three workable routes, a salvage yard, a recycler, or a removal service that takes the boat dump end to end. Georgia landfills generally refuse hulls outright. A removal service is the option that actually takes it off your hands.

Can I get free junk boat removal in Georgia?

Free junk boat removal happens in Georgia when the boat still has value, a running outboard or solid aluminum for example. Otherwise abandoned boat removal comes with a fee, and we tell you which applies before we schedule anything.

Are there boat salvage yards near me in Georgia?

Yes, Georgia has boat junkyards and salvage yards, but they take boats delivered on a trailer. Storm-damaged and marina boats often can't make that trip on their own. That's where a removal service becomes the missing piece.

How do I dispose of a fiberglass boat in Georgia?

Georgia landfills generally turn away fiberglass hulls. It gets cut into sections and hauled to facilities built to process it, which is exactly the job boat removers do. Don't count on tackling that breakdown yourself.

Can you remove a boat without a title in Georgia?

Georgia titles boats, but a lost or missing title doesn't keep us from loading it up. We come get the boat either way. The legal section above covers what replacing a title actually takes here.
