Hudson, FL: 28 ft Carver 28 Off the Bottom in One Morning

Windows on the 28 ft Carver 28 aft cabin cruiser leaked until the interior gave up, and the boat finally sat on its mooring settled by the stern with the bow pointing up. The only way to reach it was by skiff.
With no ramp beside the mooring, everything came out on the water. The crew ran a light line to the stern first, because the heavy end is the one that wants to stay down, and placed lift bags there. The mooring chain was fouled in the propeller, so a diver cleared it before we lifted a thing.
This sunken boat recovery took about three hours. We floated the Carver on a short tow to a nearby ramp, drained the cabin, and trailered it toward New Port Richey. That hull was sound. A repair yard had space for a new interior, so the salvage was a rebuild instead of a teardown.

Crews cover Pasco County: Holiday, Jasmine Estates, Land O Lakes, and New Port Richey. Mooring jobs take a skiff and a diver, and we send both the same week when we have a photo of the boat and a depth. The road along the coast means the trailer is usually at a ramp within the hour.
