Hauling a sailboat out of a Davie yard

A 27 ft Cal 27 sat on wooden stands in a Davie yard for three seasons. The boom was gone, the mast corroded at the step, and the fiberglass hull was starting to show its age. The owner had moved on, the boat hadn't, and by the time we got the call the stands were sinking into the ground. Getting it out meant a two-part job. We brought a crane and a flatbed, secured the hull, and cut the corroded mast free at the step so we could load it without a 30-foot overhead fight. The keel came out at our yard once we had the hull on the trailer. Most of a morning from start to finish, including the haul to the processor in Fort Lauderdale County where the fiberglass gets broken down and the metal gets sorted. No title in the drawer, so we handled the paperwork per Florida rules. The stand came out clean. The yard was empty. Davie sits right in the middle of our regular route, so same-week pickups are standard.
