Hauling a runabout out of a Davis driveway

An 18 ft Starcraft Holiday 18 had been sitting in a driveway in Davis for three years. The aluminum runabout had a slow leak history and a riveted hull that needed constant attention, so the owner finally decided to let it go. The single axle trailer underneath it had rusted solid, and the whole rig was wedged between a fence line and a neighbor's property line with maybe two feet of clearance on either side. Getting it out meant we couldn't just hook and pull. The trailer wheels wouldn't roll, so we brought a flatbed and pulled the boat and trailer as one unit, angling the truck bed to thread through the narrow gap without clipping the fence. Once it was loaded and secured, the haul to the metal recycler near Woodland took about forty minutes. The aluminum hull, the trailer frame, and the hardware all went to the scrap yard. No salvage value, but the driveway was clear and the owner had a clean bill of sale to close the loop. Crews cover all of Yolo County: Woodland, West Sacramento, University of California-Davis, Winters, Esparto, Monument Hills. We handle pickups same week in most cases, and we see a lot of seasonal storage moves in and out of the Davis area, especially around fall and spring. If your 18-footer is on a trailer in a driveway or parked at a storage facility anywhere in the county, we can reach it.
