Florence-Graham, CA: 28 ft Bertram Gone in One Morning

A 28 ft Bertram 28 sportfisher had been sitting in a Florence-Graham driveway for three years. Twin engines were seized solid, the cockpit sole had rotted through, and the fiberglass was chalky and cracked. No trailer. The boat was wedged between a fence and a neighbor's property line, which meant we couldn't just back a standard lift under it. We brought a mobile crane and came in from the street side. The crew secured lifting straps around the hull, raised it clear of the driveway, and swung it over the fence onto our flatbed. Most of the morning's work. The hull went straight to the processor in Los Angeles County, where it got cut down for recycling. No title in the drawer, handled per the California rules.
