Hauling a sailboat out of a Knoxville storage lot

A 23 ft Hunter 23.5 had been sitting in a Knox County yard for three winters. The water ballast tank cracked during the freeze cycle, and by spring the owner knew the boat wasn't coming back. The original trailer had rusted solid, the frame was compromised, and the whole rig was too heavy to move without a full breakdown. We showed up with a crane and a flat deck. The mast came down first, then we pulled the keel at the yard so the hull could be loaded without the weight penalty. The trailer couldn't be salvaged, so we left it where it sat. Getting the sailboat off the property and onto the truck took most of a morning. Once it was loaded, we routed the fiberglass hull to the processor in Knox County and sent the keel out for scrap metal recovery. The yard was clear by noon.
