Hauling a sailboat out of a Lynchburg pickup

A 23 ft Hunter 23.5 sailboat sat on a rusted original trailer in Lynchburg after the water ballast tank cracked over winter. The owner had hoped to repair it, but the reality of a fiberglass hull failure and a trailer held together by corrosion meant that wasn't going to happen. We showed up and assessed the rig. The mast was already down. Our crew loaded the hull onto our equipment, and because the keel needed to come out at the yard anyway, we didn't try to haul it intact. The real work was muscling that corroded trailer out of the way and getting a clean line to load the boat. Most of a morning, start to finish. We routed the hull to the processor and handled the keel removal back at our facility once the fiberglass was cut down.
