Hauling a sailboat out of a Manteca driveway

A 22 ft Catalina 22 had been sitting in a Manteca driveway for years with the mast down and lashed to the deck. The swing-keel trailer underneath had flat tires and hadn't moved in so long the owner had stopped thinking about it as something that could leave. He called us after his property manager sent a letter saying the neighbors were asking questions. The real problem wasn't the boat itself. It was the trailer. Flat tires, seized axles, and the whole rig wedged at an angle against the fence line. We brought a rotator and a flatbed, but we couldn't just winch it straight onto the truck without risking damage to the frame. The crew spent most of a morning carefully jacking the trailer level, breaking the axles free, and getting it stable enough to load. Once it was on the truck, the rest moved fast. Back at our yard, we pulled the swing keel and separated the mast from the deck. The hull went to our fiberglass processor in Manteca, and the keel and mast went to recycling. The driveway was clear. Crews cover all of San Joaquin County: Stockton, Tracy, Lodi, Lathrop, Mountain House, Ripon. We handle pickups same week most of the time, depending on where you are in the county. A lot of boat owners in Manteca move their rigs in and out of storage facilities through the year, and we've got the routes dialed in to get to you fast, whether you're near the delta or out toward the foothills.
