Sunken Cabin Cruiser Recovery in Hobe Sound

That 27 ft Chris-Craft Commander 27 cabin cruiser carried a fuel smell that ended every sale attempt, and it ended up on the bottom at the public ramp, gunwales level with the water. The owner had stopped opening the hatch a year earlier.
Fuel aboard shaped the whole job. Before we lifted her, the crew laid a containment boom around the hull and put sorbent pads on the surface, then pulled the tank vents shut. Nobody wants a sheen leaving a ramp. Only after that did we place lift bags at the gunwales and bring her up.
This sunken boat removal took most of a morning. The tank went into a drum for proper disposal. A short tow put the cruiser on our trailer, and we made the run toward Stuart to the yard. Wet wood in the cabin and the fuel contamination meant dismantling and recycling, with no salvage worth the trouble.

Crews cover Martin County: Jensen Beach, Palm City, Stuart, and Indiantown. A fuel job gets scheduled the same week, because the containment gear has to be on the truck. The coast road keeps the run to the yard simple, and sorbent supplies are carried on every recovery trailer here. Tell us what the tank holds and we pack accordingly.
