A 27 ft Chris-Craft Commander 27 had been sitting landlocked in Hidalgo County for three years, and a fuel smell that wouldn't quit had killed every sale attempt. The cabin cruiser was fiberglass, solid structurally, but that persistent odor from a corroded fuel tank meant no buyer was walking away from a test sit without backing out. No trailer underneath it anymore, and access was tight,the boat was wedged in a residential yard near the Mission area with power lines overhead and maybe eight feet of clearance on either side. We brought a heavy-duty crane and a flatbed instead of the usual trailer setup. The crew worked around the overhead lines, rigged the hull carefully, and had it loaded and secured in most of a morning. Once it was on the truck, we routed it to a certified marine processor in the Rio Grande Valley who specializes in fiberglass salvage. They'd handle the fuel system, the tank removal, and the hull breakdown. The owner got a release document, the yard got its space back, and the boat stopped being a problem.
