Newport Beach, CA: 27 ft Ericson Gone in One Morning

A 27 ft Ericson 27 sailboat sat in a Newport Beach driveway, its portlights crazed white and the cabin gutted by a previous owner who'd stripped everything movable. The boat had been parked there on stands for three years, a decision made when the owner realized he wasn't going to restore it. By the time we got the call, it was taking up half the property and the neighbors were done pretending not to notice. The trailer was off the ground on concrete blocks, which meant we couldn't just hook and go. We brought a heavy-duty rotator and jacks, set the boat level, and lowered it onto the trailer frame in stages. The mast was already down and secured along the hull. The real work was getting the rig out of the narrow driveway and past a tight turn onto the main street toward Anaheim. We took our time, used spotters, and kept the whole operation under a morning. Once we had it on the truck, we hauled the Ericson to our yard in Orange County. The keel came out there, and the hull went to the fiberglass processor for recycling. Crews cover all of Orange County: Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, Huntington Beach, Garden Grove, Fullerton. Newport Beach sits right in the middle of that coverage area, and we handle same-week pickups across Newport Beach. A lot of boats move in and out of storage here seasonally, so we're used to coordinating around the marinas and the tight streets where trailers need to fit. You call, we schedule, and we show up when we say we will.
