Oceanside, CA: 18 ft Checkmate Predictor Gone in One Morning

An 18 ft Checkmate Predictor ski boat was sitting in a residential yard in Oceanside with faded go-fast paint and an outboard that hadn't turned over in years. The single-axle trailer underneath it had rusted solid to the frame, and the whole rig was wedged between a fence and a neighbor's property line with maybe three feet of clearance on either side. The owner had bought it new back in the early 2000s, took it out a handful of times, then life happened. The boat stayed. Every spring he'd think about getting it running again. Every fall it was still there. By the time he called us, he'd stopped walking past it and just accepted it as part of the landscape. We brought a crane and a flatbed. The rusted trailer couldn't be towed, so we lifted the hull straight up, separated it from the frame, and loaded it. The trailer got broken down on-site. Most of a morning, start to finish. The Checkmate went to our processor in San Diego County where the fiberglass gets recycled and the metal gets sorted. The yard got its space back. Crews cover all of San Diego County: San Diego, Chula Vista, Escondido, Carlsbad, El Cajon, Vista. Most pickups happen same week. Oceanside sits right on the water, so we see a lot of seasonal moves in and out of dry storage, trailers coming back from the desert in fall, boats heading to winter moorage. We handle the whole county the same way, show up on time, load it clean, document it, and get it off your property.
