Hauling a cabin cruiser out of a Plainfield salvage job

A 27 ft Chris-Craft Commander 27 cabin cruiser sat in a Plainfield yard for three years, and the fuel smell that hung around it killed every sale attempt. The fiberglass hull was sound, but that stench was a deal-breaker. No trailer, no title in the drawer, and the boat was wedged between a fence and a storage shed. We handled the title work per New Jersey rules and assessed the access problem. The real issue wasn't the boat itself,it was getting a heavy lift rig into a tight residential side yard without tearing up the neighbor's driveway on the route toward Elizabeth. We brought in a smaller boom truck instead of the standard heavy equipment, worked the angle from the street, and used a spreader bar to distribute the weight evenly. The crew had the hull loaded and strapped in most of a morning. We routed the 27 ft Chris-Craft to the processor where the hull gets broken down for recycling. The yard went back to being a yard. Crews cover all of Union County: Elizabeth, Linden, Westfield, Rahway, Scotch Plains, Summit. We handle pickups same week most of the time. A lot of boats move in and out of storage yards around here seasonally, so we're used to working around those transitions and getting rigs loaded before winter or after spring thaw.
