Boat Wreck Removal in Port Townsend, Washington

A storm off Port Townsend put a Bertram sportfisherman on its side in shallow water, half sunk against a piling where its mooring line had finally given out. The boat had been for sale most of that year already, listed twice at a price that kept scaring off buyers once they saw how much engine work it needed. Once it went down, the outcome was decided for everyone. Pulling a 30-foot hull off a piling in tidal water meant timing the job around low tide, when the hull sat mostly exposed and stable enough to rig without the current working against us. We used airbags to float it enough to walk it clear before winching onto a barge for transport to the yard. Salvageable hardware and both engines came out for parts, and the hull went to disposal as unsalvageable structure.
