Redlands, CA: 27 ft Catalina Gone in One Morning

A 27 ft Catalina 27 had been parked on concrete blocks in a Redlands driveway for four years. The standing rigging was seized solid, the sails were rotted inside their bags, and the fiberglass hull had chalked white in the Southern California sun. The owner had inherited it from a relative, never used it, and finally decided it had to go. The boat sat on wooden stands rather than a trailer, which meant we couldn't just hook and haul. We brought a crane and a flatbed to handle the weight and the awkward angle of the driveway approach. The crew spent most of a morning securing the hull, removing the mast, and extracting the keel at our yard before routing the fiberglass shell to the processor in San Bernardino County. No title paperwork existed, so we handled it per California documentation rules. We cover all of San Bernardino County: San Bernardino, Fontana, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Victorville, Rialto. Redlands sits right in the middle of our regular routes, so most pickups happen same week. We see a lot of seasonal movement through here, especially boats coming in and out of storage facilities around the valley. Call with your address and we'll tell you exactly when we can get there.
