Hauling a fishing boat out of a Redondo Beach driveway

A 16 ft Lund 1600 Fury aluminum fishing boat sat in a Redondo Beach driveway for three years. The transom plywood had rotted through, and the owner finally decided it was time to move it. The trailer was still serviceable, but the boat itself wasn't going anywhere under its own power. The challenge wasn't the boat's weight or size. It was access. The driveway was narrow, and getting a heavy-duty tow vehicle in close enough to hook up without clipping the fence meant backing the truck in from the street at an angle that left maybe two feet of clearance on either side. The crew spent most of a morning positioning the rig, securing the Lund to a proper hauling frame, and easing it out to the main road. Once it was free of the property, the drive to Long Beach went smooth. The aluminum hull went to the metal recycler. The trailer stayed with the owner. The driveway was clean. We cover all of Los Angeles County: Los Angeles, Long Beach, Santa Clarita, Glendale, Lancaster, Palmdale. Most calls come in during spring when boats move out of storage or owners finally decide to clear the driveway before summer. We schedule same-week pickups whenever possible. A 16-footer like yours typically loads in a couple hours, and we handle the route down to the recycler or auction yard depending on what the hull's got left in it.
